No, if you’re a school nominee or direct applicant for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship, you’re not required to apply by UNC’s Early Action deadline. However, there’s an exception: If you’re otherwise ineligible for the scholarship but would like to be considered through the Admissions Referral Program (ARP), you must apply Early Action to UNC.
How can out-of-state students be considered for the scholarship?
Exceptional out-of-state applicants to UNC–Chapel Hill are nominated through the Admissions Referral Program (ARP). If you’re eligible, the UNC Office of Undergraduate Admissions notifies Morehead-Cain, allowing us to review additional applicants and invite selected few to apply directly for the scholarship.
Can I apply under a binding Early Decision plan to another institution?
Yes, you can. Just notify us if you’re admitted Early Decision. If you’re not admitted, please refrain from applying binding ED II.
